As UC San Diego’s eighth Chancellor, I welcome you to the UC San Diego Campus Climate website. These pages provide information about our ongoing efforts to enrich the diversity of our community and curriculum. Many of the action steps detailed on these pages are part of our administrative commitments to improve campus climate, which were established when UC San Diego experienced demonstrations and calls for change during the 2010 winter quarter. In addition to following through on those commitments, the campus also has enacted numerous other programs and initiatives to institute positive changes that will benefit the entire campus, making UC San Diego a better place for us all.

I ask you to join me as we continue to work together – students, staff, faculty, and community members – to achieve our shared commitment to an open, welcoming and supportive campus for people from all backgrounds and walks of life. The culture on this campus should be one of total inclusiveness.
